Last week I met up with a craftsperson that is creating lamps with Paper Clay - delightfully 'light' in more than one way.

Those interested can see examples at http://www.yenrobinson.co.uk/

All best,

Grant

These are absolutely gorgeous light fittings. Porcelain paper clay is a beautiful medium and does indeed lend itself to lighting due to it's translucent qualities - very nice lighting & I must say reasonably priced! Di :>)

Yen is also taking part in h.Art (Herefordshire Art Week) (See Events Section of this site) so you
can pop along to see her and her work if you pop down.

And Tracey, don't stop at Paperclay - Diane's been recently experimenting on paper concrete (papercrete) to form Elf houses for here at the HoBB Gardens.

Whilst there is an ever ebullient list of things to try out, spare hours for such fun activities often seem capped by routines. I hope you can break your routines often and look forward to news of your ways.

All best,

Oh yes, we do need to break free of routines - she says about to do the routine shopping trip and domestic chores that one didn't get round to yesterday!! lol :-) Whilst looking guiltily at still unfired clay Elf sitting patiently on his clay tree stump!!!

whilst..... delighted to see that you Grant have used the very very useful addition of your signature in your post - please not everyone - its very valuable for search engine listings - a little amendment to that Grant will do even more good ....

cheers Di

Yes - not to note does flip the meaning and outcome of your words somewhat. I'm glad I read both of your replies at the same time (the joys of mastering multitasking).

I saw these a couple of months back when I was researching paperclay artists for Uni, they're beautiful to look at on the internet, I imagine they are much more lovely "in the flesh"

Thanks for the link Grant, I would never have found that one again!

Yes Dawn, they are indeed lovely 'in the flesh'. No need to just imagine them - get along to see Yen's work this September as she is opening her Studio as part of h.Art (Herefordshire Art Week).

Are there any findings of that Uni. research that would be good/useful to include here on this thread?
