I've been cake decorating for years and the number of books I have is embarassing. Then I started to gather polymer clay books for inspiration for my fondant models. THEN I "found" cold porcelain, but apart from the Porcelana Fria magazines and a couple of books on cold porcelain flowers there don't seem to be any on just making figurines and the like. Am I mistaken? Have I just not been looking in the right place? Heeelllpp!

They are so few and far between that the best thing is to do a web search. Katy has just brought out one, which I have ordered and looks really good and I also got one from Tombi Peck from The Book Depository (Gt Britain, they don't charge postage). She and Alan Dunn do cake decorating books and they are my main source of inspiration. They did one together on cold porcelain and that's the one I mentioned it's called Modelling in Cold Porcelain. Cake decorating books are fantastic for showing shapes etc and works very much in the same way as cold porcelain, although I mainly use Makins air dry clay.

I've actually just got the Tombi and Peck book which is just lovely. I just wondered if there were any books out there just for cold porcelain like there are for polymer clay.
BTW I so love the Book Depository. If I find a book I want on eBay, I go to the depository and check the price there before I do anything. They have a great range of books and the free shipping is such a great marketing coup!. I used to buy books through Amazon but they seem to have gone all queer and want to charge a motza for postage these days! One book I was after about, which was about A5 size and 90 pages was going to cost $US35.93 to send to Australia! WTF?! That was when I discovered the Book Depository and haven't been back to Amazon since.
