For the centres, I lay some quilting tape onto a narrow piece of card, sticky side up, then wound some black DMC thread around and around in a line so that the thread lay on the sticky tape. I then cut down the middle of the cotton and tape (because the tape was too wide) and then down the centre of the thread which gave me enough for two poppy centres. I then pulled away the other part of the tape and stuck the stick side all around my clay centres. When I was satisfied that it looked ok I made sure that it wouldn't come away by glueing the edges again with white glue. Once this had set, I cut the thread fringe to size and using yellow acrylic paint I dabbed this on to look like pollen. After that I added my painted petals. Hope I have explained it properly. If not I could have a go at doing step by step pictures. Hugs Joyce
