Hi Alice:
I paint the baskets when they are dry. I completely cover them inside and outside with the oil paint, diluted or not, it's up to you. I make sure that I push the color in every part of it with the paint brush.
After I finish that part, then, with an old t-shirt, I start removing the paint until I get the color I am looking for.

Love the sola wood flowers. About a year ago I searched all over the internet for sola wood to do flowers. No luck in finding it. Nice to see some of those types of florals being done.
