Profile Information

Tell us here... My main art, hobby, craft is ....
ArtKids (our own artist!) makes paintings (and other works of art) inspired by drawings by children.
Usually we see the children stand a few iches taller, when they see "their" painting(made
by our artist Tamara), and the parents are often surprised to discover that they have
an artist in the family. This tells we build up the self-confidence of children.
I joined Art hobby to:
connect with others
Which Country or Town are you located?
The Netherlands, Amsterdam
Tell Us More (we'd like to get to know you better). About Me and My Art, Hobby, Craft:
ArtKids, the passion

Our "business tool" is: ArtKids makes (oil)paintings (and art) inspired by simple
spontaneous made drawings by little children.

The passion is different.

The program for life, I have been taught was:

1) get a good education
2) spend 40 years, 40 hours a week working for another.
3) retire

After working about sixteen year for social services (Amsterdam) I concluded I was
nearly dead. The program didn't touch my heart and didn't work for me either.
I stopped pursuing it, and started working for myself, as a copywriter.
After a few years I found being a copywriter wasn't fulfilling me either.
In the meantime I met Tamara (she's now my girl-friend, wife, and business-partner, and our artist). Some social worker told Tamara that Soraya (daughter of Tamara)
wasn't happy. At school Soraya was always busy with other things.
After some sleepless nights Tamara found some drawings by Soraya, and Tamara saw big smiles on the faces of the puppets.
That inspired Tamara to paint. Soraya was delighted by both the recognition and the attention.
We wondered if the same would happen with the drawings by other children, so we tried it out with our relatves children.
And the children's reactions were the same. The parents were mostly surprised by seeing their children as real artists.
Tamara and I (Hans) noticed such happiness, and we concluded: if (and we did so) we build a good concept we can make the world happier and ourselves too.
Since then we tell many children (and their parents) they have more talents….

What am I looking for?

1) Open minds. Probably there are more people who want the "world" to be happier.
2) Income. Life costs money, and making the world a bit happier even costs more.
That's why we want to earn money with the nice things we do.
2.1 I am looking for people who, and companies that love to have personal art, to
make a happier and more enjoyable envirement
2.2) Companies and organizations looking for loyalty-concepts or public-relations-concepts.
3.3) Charities and fund raising opportinities that help develop children.

The "tool" art inspired by simple spontaneous made drawings of
little children can be used in many more cases.
Some examples: Children can think along concerning the renovation or building of their
school, or room.
Children (and adults too) can get a kick of self-confidence: "didn't
know I could draw and paint that beautiful".
Our workshops for children (spontaneous drawing) and for adults (painting inspired
through drawings by children) can be used during events and as a part of a training.

painting for outside

We have an assignment to paint a painting meant to be attached to a wall OUTSIDE.
(no, not painted on stone, but just like oil-colors on framed canvas.
The oil-colors can stand some rain and a bit sun from time to time, the frame and the canvas will not stand wind and rain etc.
Any ideas?
Hans

My heart was bursting with joy while I read the profile about what you and your wife are doing with children. I have a degree in art therapy ...it's a little different than what you guys do but along the the lines of the same thing. In the beginning I worked with kids and later worked with mentally challenged adults. We sold the art work for the mentally challenged adults and it made the stand much taller then they did before. My hats off to both of you for what you are doing for the kids. I am sure they appreciate what you are doing for them. Blessings!!!!!
