Korb khun maak (Thank you very much) Rosemary,
Going to Thailand is never a bad idea, but take a look in our webshop we have a lot of cutters and vein stamps in stock. I use Thai clay and LunaClay mixed together (I explain all on our website). The Cymbidium you like is available as a multimedia eBook and contains video tutorials to make a complete flower.
Greetings,

Hello Ro.
Thank you for your admiration of my Cold Porcelain.
You could place your CP Recipe, with Mochi, in the Cold Porcelain group as there is a recipe or two in there.
This is such a fun place to be and so-o many creative folk.
Hugs
Katy

Thank you for the welcome. In Guam, it's 'hafa adai' much like 'aloha' used in Hawaii.
I bought an large oval mirror from Ross(yes, we have one on Guam!) and the sides were becoming unglued. I covered it with Deco Clay used for making dolls then made random dots around the oval. I then used the same clay(color is a light beige) to make long leaves and on each side, 4 oriental lilies. I bought the large lily cutters from Bangkok along with veiners. It's really quite easy because it has six petals that you just wrap one over the other, placing the stamen(also of clay) in the middle of the petals. I will be using Winton oil's sap green with a dry brush, high lighting the middle of the flowers as well as the entire surrounding oval part of the mirror.
I have recipes for cold porcelain that you cook with white glue and corn starch, although I prefer using Mochi (rice) starch because it makes the clay more sturdy to work with. Let me know if you're interested in the recipe. It's also from Thailand.(the recipe)
Welcome to art hobby craft Ro. Your large mirror sounds really interesting. How are you making the oriental lilies? Looking forward to finding out more about you and your craft. regards Diane
