Tell Us More (we'd like to get to know you better). About Me and My Art, Hobby, Craft:
I am Cherokee Native American, I work as a Floral designer. I started beading about 42 years ago. My aunt started me at it when I was around 6, I also started making pine-straw baskets at that time.
Thank you so much Skytiyia Stormcloud for your kind comments. In answer to your question I started having a go at this type of flowers around about when I started with this forum which is only a few months. After trying out various clays I've chosen Makins Air Dry as my favourite just now but that doesn't mean I won't be trying to perfect my skills with the home made variety and other brands after all when you see the wonderful work that the forum members are producing with cold porcelain then I must be doing something wrong. I just love doing them, the only thing against me at the moment is finding the time. Hugs Joyce
Wow, what a fantastic heritage as well as beautifully crafted creations. With that many beads, little wonder that your gorgeous wedding dress took almost a year! Well worth the wait :-)
You tanned the moccasins as well! Gosh you really must tell us more about your fantastic work and all about PowWos too please :-)
-------- "It took about 2 months to make my husbands maccasins. The dress took almost a year, the base is soft white doe's skin that I tanned.
It has over 175000 beads everything is made by hand. It was my wedding dress. It weighs about 25lbs. My husband is the grandson of Chief Joesph on his fathers side of the family and Geronimo on his mothers. We go to alot of PowWows throughout the year."
