What's Your Biggest Arts and Crafts Challenge for 2009?

credit crunch arts and crafts
The credit crunch is apparently upon us and is reportedly expected to worsen throughout 2009.

Some analysts believe that arts and crafts gifts and goods are going to be the last item on people's shopping lists this year.

I'm not convinced that they are correct. I'm confident that art and craft items that are well made and of good value are going to be much more interesting to discerning buyers who are looking for something of quality that is handcrafted and individual. Of course you will have to find positive avenues to make sure these potential buyers find your arts and crafts items, rather than finding your competitors.

I'd love to know your views on this issue as we enter 2009.

So, what do you think the affect of the credit crunch will be for you and your arts and crafts business?

What's your biggest arts and crafts challenge for 2009?

and

What would help you to overcome any potential challenges that you may identify?

thanks
Diane

Well Everyone!
I know that this is suppose to be a tough year but I feel that we can make this a good year with thinking out side the box in our marketing and also working together on events and projects. There is strength in numbers.
We can do it!
Peace

I will be giving it my best shot, believe me Di.
Whatever the product, quality is desirable and choices are beneficial.
Also gear the product for the market.
For me it is introducing new designs also.
Back to work!
Cheers

Comments Added on behalf of Katy B, who is off to Japan very soon:-

"Not sure how the credit dilemma will affect sales, but I am going over with positive thoughts.
One of the first shows I did in Japan was at a downturn in economies but I had phenomenal sales.

Also then, as now, the yen value against the NZ dollar is in my favour!!!!"

thanks Katy for your comments :-)
make it another phenomenal trip.
